What is EESPA?
EESPA (European E-Invoicing Service Providers Association) is a not-for-profit organization representing the interests of electronic invoicing service providers across Europe. Founded in 2011, EESPA aims to promote interoperability, compliance, and best practices in the exchange of structured electronic invoices.
One of EESPA’s key initiatives is the development of a Multilateral Interoperability Agreement (MIFA)—a framework that enables service providers to exchange e-invoices securely and in a standardized manner.
What is GENA?
GENA (Global Exchange Network Association) is a global initiative that expands on EESPA’s vision by fostering interoperability among e-invoicing platforms across borders. It supports global trade digitalization by aligning networks, processes, and technical specifications for cross-border document exchange.
Together, EESPA and GENA define a foundation for secure, standardized, and scalable e-document exchanges.
