About this policy

This policy explains which cookies and similar technologies Eaglessoft BV (“we”, “us”) uses on the website eaglessoft.com, in all its language versions (the “Website”). It also applies to our free online tools at tools.docnaut.com: the Peppol Validator, the XML Transformer and the Peppol Participant Lookup (the “Tools”; see section 4.5). Please read it together with our Privacy Policy.

This policy is available in English. If you need help understanding it in Dutch, French or German, contact us at [email protected].

Our products have their own cookie policies. For DocNaut, see the DocNaut Cookie Policy and the other documents at www.docnaut.com/legal; for Invocit, see the legal pages on the Invocit website, invocit.com.

What cookies and similar technologies are

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser. Websites can also use similar technologies, such as pixels, scripts and the browser’s local storage, to store or read information on your device. In this policy, “cookies” covers all of these.

Session vs. persistent

Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies remain for the period shown in the table below, or until you delete them.

First-party vs. third-party

First-party cookies are set by the Website. Third-party cookies are set by another provider, on its own domain.

3

When we ask for your consent

Under Article 10/2 of the Belgian Act of 30 July 2018 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data (which implements Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive), we may store or read information on your device without your consent only when this is strictly necessary to provide the Website or a service you have asked for. All other cookies need your prior consent.

We use the following categories:

Cookie categories and whether consent is needed
CategoryWhat it doesConsent needed?
Strictly necessary Makes the Website work and keeps it secure: remembering your language and your cookie choices, and protecting our forms against bots. No
Statistics Helps us understand how visitors use the Website, so that we can improve it (Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity). Yes
Marketing Measures the results of our advertising and lets us show our advertisements on Google, LinkedIn and Meta (Facebook and Instagram). Also covers content from other providers that is embedded in the Website, such as the Google Maps map on our contact page. Yes
No consent, no cookies

No statistics or marketing cookie is placed, and no script that sets them is loaded, until you have given your consent. For Google services, we use Google Consent Mode v2 in basic mode: Google tags are not loaded before you consent, so no data is sent to Google before then, and your choice is passed to Google once you have made it.

Cloudflare Turnstile

Our forms are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, a bot check that runs in a frame from challenges.cloudflare.com. It does not set cookies on the Website. The durations above are those published by each provider and may change. The current list is kept up to date by our consent tool, which scans the Website regularly. Some of these providers process data outside the EU/EEA; see section 12 of our Privacy Policy.

E-mail tracking

Our newsletter e-mails can contain a small image and tracked links that tell us whether an e-mail was opened and which links were clicked. We use them only for recipients who have consented to it; see section 4 of our Privacy Policy.

4.4 What we do not use

  • Fonts are served from our own server, so your browser does not contact a font provider.
  • YouTube videos and social media pages are linked, not embedded. These providers set cookies only if you follow the link, under their own policies. The same applies to WhatsApp and Microsoft Bookings, which you reach through links on the Website.

4.5 Free online tools at tools.docnaut.com

The Tools set no cookies and use no statistics or marketing technologies, so no consent banner is shown there. They store only the following settings in your browser’s local storage, which are strictly necessary to display the Tools as you asked:

dn-theme Eaglessoft (first party) Remembers the light or dark theme you chose. Until you clear your browser data No

Our network security provider Cloudflare may set the strictly necessary __cf_bm and cf_clearance cookies described in section 4.1 when bot protection or a security challenge is active.

5

Giving and withdrawing consent

When you first visit the Website, a banner asks whether you accept statistics and marketing cookies. Accept and Reject are offered side by side, with equal prominence. No category is pre-selected, and you can also choose per category. The Website works fully whatever you choose.

You can change your choice or withdraw your consent at any time, as easily as you gave it, through the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. When you withdraw consent, we stop using the cookies concerned and delete the first-party cookies we can delete. Third-party cookies set on another provider’s domain can only be deleted in your browser (section 6).

We keep your choice for 6 months and then ask you again. We also ask again if we add new cookies that need your consent. We keep a record of your choice (date, version of this policy and the categories accepted) to be able to prove your consent.

6

Browser settings

You can also view, block and delete cookies in your browser settings (for example in Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari, under privacy or site data settings). If you block all cookies, some parts of the Website may not work, for example the language selection or the bot check on our forms.

7

Third-party policies

For information about how these providers use data, see their own policies:

8

Changes to this policy

We review this policy when we add or change cookies. Each version has a version number and an effective date, shown at the top of this page. We keep every earlier version of this policy, together with its dates. When a new version is published, the earlier versions are listed under “Previous versions” on this page, and they are also available on request.
