📌 Key Details for German E-Invoices

  • E-invoice reception becomes mandatory January 1, 2025all businesses must be able to receive structured invoices in EN 16931 format.

  • Formats like XRechnung and ZUGFeRD (version 2.0.1 or higher) are accepted as structured e-invoice standards.

  • Issuance of structured e-invoices becomes mandatory in phases: from January 2027 for businesses with annual turnover above €800,000, and January 2028 for all businesses.
